The organisation "Consumers International" (CI) has made an inquiry, in collaboration with 8 national consumer organisations (among who the Belgian Test- Aankoop),  into the CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) policy of European supermarkets, and into the work conditions and 'fair' relations they maintain with the developing countries concerning their production chain. This report has shown that a lot of supermarkets guarantee human work conditions for all producers in the production chain, whereas they did not took any proper measures with regard to the monitoring and training of the suppliers.
